![]() Tuli ~ (Angus of the Tropics) | Tremere joined the producer consortium which supported CSIRO in a joint venture to import Tuli cattle from East Africa to enlarge the African Sanga gene pool available in Australia. Our Sanga based Belmont Reds had such a successful record it was natural to use more Sanga genes. Tuli purebreds are increased by embryo transfer and natural mating. The grading up herd of 150 dams was based on Belmont Red foundation cows (50%Sanga) and there are appendix D calves on the ground. These are actually 94% Sanga due to the input from the foundation dams. |
| To date over 600 Tremere animals of Tuli breeding are on Tuli Breedplan. This is a unique achievement in Australia and provides a sound breeding base. Heifers are mated at 250 Kg and calving difficulties are virtually non-existint, a feature of the breed. Calves with birth weights of 28 to 32 Kg are fed from beautiful udders. | ![]() Marvellous Mothers |
